Archie’s Diary Lockdown Special-Power to you

Archie’s Diary Lockdown Special- Power to you
They think we women run a restaurant. Bone-weary and exhausted of preparing myriad cuisines, cakes, and puddings. The other day I was asked to bake a cake, so I made a butterscotch and orange cake. After I baked a beautiful heart-shaped cake, I got to hear, “Oh we actually wanted a chocolate chip cake.“. So I said,” Fine, finish this off, and then I will bake another one.” It was polished off to the very last bit of crumb overnight. So then, the next morning when I got up, I was ordered to bake another one. Well, I did so, as was promised by me. Only yesterday did I make Bell Peppers with Baked Beans, Vegetables Kebabs and Burgers for the breakfast. As for Dinner, Tortilla Wraps, Sauté Veggies with Grilled cottage cheese and flavored sour curd on the side. A Pistachios Kulfi for the dessert. Oh dear heavens, what do I get to hear, “Aaj Kuch special nahin banaya?”(Why haven’t you made anything special today?) I just smiled and grated my teeth and clenched my fists and then smiled some more.
I am the Domestic Help and Sous- Chef rolled into one.
Then they make fun of my presently contumacious hair and quotidian
clothes…. as though I have time to tend to myself. Oh, I forgot to mention the cleaning of twice a week’s washroom’s glass partitions. Woebegone indeed.
No, I don’t think so, the break in the clouds is that, at the end of the day, it gives us a feeling of elation and satisfaction that when it’s the need of the hour, we can roll up our sleeves and get into a superwoman mode and tend to our family’s as well as our professional needs too. ????
Cheers ???? to girl power ????
